Our team are producing some exceptional quality drops which were very well received again this year, with rave reviews in the 2016 The West Australian Wine Guide by Ray Jordan.
McHenry Hohnen flagship Margaret River varietals Cabernet and Chardonnay paid off for our submissions with our second release of the Rolling Stone Cabernet coming in with the second highest score 97/100 and the 2013 Hazel's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and 2013 Burnside Chardonnay scoring incredibly well at 95/100 each. Our alternative varieties such as Roussanne, Marsanne and Zinfandel were also very well received.
A distinctive wine that is the result of a blend of Marsanne, Chardonnay and Roussane. It's rich and lavishly textured which you would expect from these varieties. Creamy rich honey and stone fruit on the palate which is smooth and soft. This is a food-friendly, full-bodied style with lots of appeal.

Opens with lovely herbal and tropical fruit aromatics on the nose. It's such an enticing beginning to a wine that offers just a little more than the stock standard fare for this combination. Crunchy lively palate with a lingering fruit-driven finish.

Classy Chardonnay from this outstanding vineyard. Nutty cereal and grapefruit characters on the nose and palate. It's remarkably complex on the nose with subtle nuances emerging each sniff. The palate is seamless and so rich but with admirable restraint and focused control. Slightly more restrained than previous vintages but still with the characteristic vineyard and textural mouthfeel.

This is a new release that honours McHenry's mother, the legendary Hazel. It's a cracking good wine that shows such character and style from this southern Margaret River region. Meaty blackcurrant fruit characters with excellent French oak infusion. Layered dark chocolate and mocha character. A wine of poise and character, just like its namesake.

No mistaking the classic characters of this Zinfandel. Loads of liqueur chocolate and ripe brambly dark fruits on the nose with a generous and warm palate. Good fruit and French oak balance with a long finish. Certainly one for the Zin fans.

The second release of this super premium Cabernet blend. It's Cabernet dominant with Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This is another cracking wine, right up there with the initial release. Meaty blackcurrant and graphite and toasty oak influence. Deep and immensely concentrated with powerful fruit. The substantial ripe tannins are fully integrated and balanced while the oak has been astutely applied. A wine with heaps of potential.
