2017 Rocky Road Rose'

Tasting Note

This Rose’ is made from Tempranillo grapes, hand picked by some of our wine club members. Wild fermented, extended time on lees and with only a light filtration before bottling, this wine is pale salmon pink in colour.

Lifted floral aromas typical of tempranillo are complemented by a subtle fragrance of sour cherries and wild strawberries.  The palate is soft and refreshing, displaying raspberries and nectarine followed by a zippy acidity, fine texture and a dry finish. A great wine to enjoy on a sunny day.

After desirable conditions during flowering, the summer started cool and wet, slowing down the growing season significantly.

Conditions improved in late February, developing into a perfect Indian summer. The result is whites that are packed with energy and poise, and reds that got the benefit of a long, cool ripening periods; tannin ripeness and complex flavour developments. Alcohols are lower than previous years, even with greater physiological ripeness.
