2016 Rocky Road Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

A lifted and punchy citrus fruit cocktail greets at first swirl with underlying cut grass and ruby grapefruit nuances. The palate abounds with lime, locut and passionfruit layers, some texture from a portion fermented on skins and in barrel adds length, whilst lemon zest and lime acidity makes for a brighter and mineral finish.

Winemaking

A perfect Margaret River spring led into a moderate summer with timely rain events ensuring wines were never stressed. A classical Margare River growing season.

Fruit was picked in the cool of the morning before being crushed straight to tank with no additions. The batch is then split between a portion that is tank fermented at cool temperatures and the remainder fermented in oak vat. Post fermentation, the wines are sulphured and blendred in winter before blending in spring.
